Volume Lashes

This multi-lash technique involves adhering synthetic, ultra-fine lashes onto a single natural lash.

The main benefit of Russian Layering is that it gives clients a fuller and more natural look, without damage to your own lashes.

This method is particularly suited to ladies who want to create more of an impact rather than the sparse look that the individual lashes can give.

This treatment allows you to get the fullness you would like no matter how sparse your natural lashes are. Russian Volume lashes take approximately 1-2 hours depending on the look you want to achieve and the amount of your own natural lashes.

How long do they last?

Like all Lash Extensions, when looked after properly, Russian Volume Lashes should have the same lifespan as your natural lash cycle. This is usually between 4-6 weeks. To avoid your lashes looking patchy as they grow out, we would recommend an infill after 2-3 weeks. This will keep your lashes looking full and uniform.

How to look after them?

• For the first 48 hours, we recommend that you avoid water contacting your lashes.

• For the first two days after your treatment, avoid saunas, steaming, swimming and washing your face with hot water

• Do not use waterproof mascara on your lashes.

• Make sure you use an oil-free makeup remover.

• Do not rub your eyes. After washing your face always pat your lashes dry

Can I wear Mascara?

No. It is not advisable to wear mascara with any kind of lash extensions. As mascara contains oil, this can break down the chemicals in the glue which will cause shedding If you do need to wear mascara, we’d recommend an oil-free product. 

What is lash shedding?

In a similar way that animals lose their heavy coat for the hotter weather, as humans, we also shed our hair (including our lashes) for the change in temperatures to come. Summer weather can cause some clients’ skin to sweat and produce more oils which will affect retention, and Winter weather with its lower humidity levels can cause lashes to become more brittle and fall out easier. In a regular lash shed cycle, we can lose up to 5-7 natural lashes per day, however this can increase dramatically in Spring and Autumn in preparation for the temperature changes. This is what’s referred to as ‘Lash Shedding Season’.

The loss of lashes often goes unnoticed for people without lash extensions as the natural lashes are so fine, but when you have individual lash extensions or fans attached to your natural lashes, it can become more noticeable. It is for this reason we need to make sure that both lash artists and their clients are educated on their natural lash cycle.
